This piece is featured in the “Simulation.” collection.

This piece highlights how in life we are pushed to follow the yellow brick road aka the “perfect” and socially accepted life paths. As a result of people pleasing tendencies, a lot of people get caught up following a path that doesn’t fulfill them, (un)knowingly robbing themselves of their own happiness. This happiness cannot be reclaimed until we as individuals listen to our intuition and follow our true passions. In relation to the artist, that would be her actual pursuit of the arts and being a creative, hence her incorporation of a self portrait within the piece.
