blogs are back :)
Hey loves!
It’s been a minute since I’ve made one of these, but I missed documenting my journey sooo we’re back!
I’ve had a little painting hiatus, but don’t be fooled I’ve still been creating behind the scenes. I specifically wanted to cater to you guys a bit more since the holiday season is around the corner, so first announcement: commissions are open! It’s one thing to bring my own vision to life but I miss painting for you guys, so don’t be afraid to reach out if you want some “weird” stuff. I’ll probably have a form set up by the time this is up, but you can also reach out on @for.buta on Instagram or sjeanartss@gmail.com; whatever you’re most comfortable with.
As for the next announcement…. prints are back! I’ve been working the past couple months on trying to print them myself, but I realized quickly there’s a lot more to it than just pressing print. Everything from the paper, to the ink, to even the printer itself played a part. Not to mention the editing that went into the photos before they could even be sent to a printer. Long story short, I accepted defeat and started outsourcing prints again, but trust me I’m gonna get to a point in this journey when I can make them myself. While outsourcing prints is a bit easier given my circumstances right now, that doesn’t change how much work I put into them to make sure you guys get the highest quality print. I went through three rounds of proofs before these ones could get approved and come December 15th, 2023, you can get one! Move quickly though, first 30 orders get a free gift with their purchase!
In this drop, I’ll be releasing 6 different prints of some of my favorite paintings. Some were made closer to the beginning of the year, while others were made towards the end. I only dropped 6 variations as of now, because I see this drop as my representation of my journey and experimentation as an artist in 2023. If you don’t see a print of a piece that you want to buy, don’t worry! More on the way for 2024! Feel free to let me know which one’s those are though and I can keep a mental not to have those release before others.
In terms of these blogs though, prepare to be sick of meeee. I’m bringing these back to have a little more accountability, but also to feel a little more interactive and transparent about a process that I’m usually very hesitant to open up about. Cheers to vulnerability and I’ll see you on December 15th!
Sammy :)
